The Regional Infrastructure Accelerators (RIA) Program is designed to assist entities in developing improved infrastructure priorities and financing strategies for the accelerated development of a project that is eligible for funding under the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) Credit Program.

 

Fiscal Year (FY) 2023  Notice of Funding Opportunity:

The U.S. Department of Transportation published a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Regional Infrastructure Accelerators Program on April 27, 2023 with $24 million available to award.

Program Goals

  • Promote innovative financing

  • Build capacity for investment of private capital

  • Provide technical assistance on best practices

  • Demonstrate transparency of project analysis

  • Create pipeline of projects

  • Bundle small-scale and rural projects

  • Reduce transaction costs

 

 

RIA Requirements

  • Serve a defined geographic area

  • Act as a resource to qualified entities in the geographic area

  • Demonstrate the effectiveness of the RIA to expedite the delivery of projects eligible for the TIFIA credit program

 

Deadlines

  • Applications due – 05/30/2023

 

Additional Info

    • Must meet criteria for the establishment of an RIA and list of projects

    • Projects are not required to apply for or receive TIFIA credit assistance to be eligible
