Historical Maps 

  • 1955 Nebraska State Highway System - In 1955, LB 187 was introduced in the 67th Nebraska Legislature to address the fact that Nebraska did not (at that time) have an adequate legal instrument for the Department of Roads to define the State Highway System. The proposed highway system map prepared by the State Highway Commission was adopted by the Legislature as the State Highway System on September 18, 1955.  (The map is referred to in Nebraska Revised State Statute 39-1309)
