Assistant Traffic Control Managers (ATCM) Certification
NDOT requires Assistant Traffic Control Managers (ATCM) to be qualified by certification (Subsection 419.02, paragraph b. of the Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2017 Edition).
The options for certification include:
- Certification according to the Department’s certification program – complete and pass no more than 2 years prior to working on the project. This option is now offered online though LTAP, see the link below to access the training course
- ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Course – attend and pass examination no more than 4 years prior to working on the project
- ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor Course – attend and pass examination no more than 4 years prior to working on the project
- Nebraska LTAP Basic Traffic Control Course – attend and pass examination no more than 4 years prior to working on the project
- Nebraska LTAP Advanced Traffic Control Course – attend and pass examination no more than 4 years prior to working on the project
