2026 Mid-States Highway-Railroad Safety Conference
Join us June 23–24, 2026, in downtown Lincoln’s vibrant Haymarket District at the Courtyard by Marriott - Downtown, 808 R Street, for the 2026 Mid-States Highway–Railroad Safety Conference, hosted this year by the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT). This annual event draws more than 100 highway–rail safety leaders and professionals from across the Midwest and beyond, including participants from Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, and several additional states.
Attendees represent Class I and short-line railroads, state departments of transportation, federal agencies, rail safety organizations, industry associations, and community partners. Together, they explore strategies to enhance highway–rail safety, exchange best practices, strengthen public–private collaboration, and improve coordination on projects that impact communities nationwide.
More than just a meeting, this conference serves as a dynamic forum focused on saving lives, improving infrastructure, and fostering stronger relationships between railroads and public agencies.
