Industry Conferences

 

Nebraska Local Technical Assistance Program, in collaboration with statewide and regional partners, hosts and supports a variety hosts and supports a variety of regional and statewide conferences and workshops that offer opportunities for road professionals to share experiences, ideas, and knowledge. Conference subjects range from technical in nature (Bridge conference) to skills competition (Winter Maintenance Workshop).

 

These events bring together local agencies, state and federal transportation professionals, consultants, associations, and industry leaders to share knowledge, explore innovation, and strengthen Nebraska’s transportation network.

Build a Better Mousetrap

 

The Build a Better Mousetrap (BABM) Competition recognizes innovative solutions developed by local and tribal transportation agencies to improve safety, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance transportation operations.

 

Sponsored nationally by FHWA and the National LTAP Association, the competition highlights creative tools, equipment modifications, processes, and other practical innovations that help transportation professionals work smarter. Nebraska LTAP coordinates state-level submissions and helps connect local innovations to national recognition.

 

Applications are due annually by May 15.

 Tailgate Talks

  

The Everyday Safety Tailgate Talks Series provides handouts with talking points for use in safety meetings, informal training, in email or other ways to update staff on best practices and department procedures aimed at making the workplace safe. Topics can be used on their own or in a group of similar-themed topics.
