AASHTO Multi-State Technical Assistance Program (MTAP) is a program of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials that facilitates the sharing of best practices among state DOTs to improve public transportation services.
American Public Transportation Association (APTA) is a national nonprofit representing all modes of public transit, APTA provides advocacy, research, and professional development for transit agencies, policy makers, and industry stakeholders.
Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) is a national membership association that supports community and public transportation systems, especially in rural and small urban areas, through training, resources and advocacy.
The Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility Technical Assistance Center (CCAM-TAC) is funded by the FTA and operated by CTAA, CCAM-TAC provides technical assistance to improve coordination among federal programs that fund transportation services for people with disabilities, older adults, and low-income individuals.
Federal Transit Administration (FTA), a division of the U.S. Department of Transportation, provides financial and technical assistance to local transit systems and supports the planning, development and operation of public transportation services through funding, research and regulatory oversight nationwide. United We Ride - Mobility Management Strategies is an initiative of the FTA that offers guidance, tools and strategies to promote coordinated human service transportation and mobility management at the local, state and national levels.
National Center for Rural Road Safety (NCRSS) is a national resource center focused on enhancing safety on rural roads through training, technical assistance and resources for transportation professionals and local agencies. Rural Road Safety Awareness Week is a key initiative led by the Center, held annually to highlight the importance of reducing fatalities and serious injuries on rural roads through education and community engagement.
National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM) promotes customer-centered mobility strategies, fostering partnerships among transportation providers, health care, and human services to improve transportation access.
National Center on Senior Transportation (NCST) is focused on increasing transportation options for older adults, this center provides resources and technical assistance to help communities improve mobility and independence for seniors.
National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) provides free training materials, technical assistance, and resources to support rural and tribal transit agencies.

Nebraska Association of Transportation Providers (NATP) is a statewide membership organization representing rural transit systems and the state’s three urban systems—Grand Island’s CRANE Public Transit, Lincoln’s StarTran and Omaha’s Metro. NATP promotes accessible transportation—especially for older adults, individuals with disabilities and those without other options. Transit providers serve on NATP’s board of directors, ensuring local voices help guide the Association’s efforts. In September, the NATP hosts the annual statewide roadeo at the Nebraska Safety Center Driving Range in Kearney. NDOT and NATP provide scholarships for the top two drivers of the Nebraska roadeo in both the minivan and body-on-chassis divisions to attend the national roadeo.
