Equipment Loan Program
Borrow equipment to support roadway safety and transportation decision-making.
- This equipment was purchased through NDOT’s High Risk Rural Roads Program, so agencies may be required to report how the equipment was used as part of the lending agreement.
- The standard loan period is two weeks.
- LTAP staff will coordinate pickup or delivery whenever possible to help get equipment to agencies efficiently and cost-effectively.
Damage, loss, or theft policies
Borrowing agencies are responsible for:
- Repair costs needed to return damaged equipment to operating condition
- Replacement costs for lost equipment
- Providing a police report and supporting documentation if equipment is stolen

RoadVista 922 RetroReflectometer
The RoadVista 922 RetroReflectometer is a handheld device used to measure the retroreflectivity of road signs and other materials. It supports sign assessment and management activities related to MUTCD retroreflectivity requirements and includes built-in GPS and barcode scanning capabilities.
Nebraska LTAP currently has one RoadVista 922 available through the Equipment Loan Program.

MetroCount 5600 Traffic Counter
The MetroCount 5600 is a portable traffic counting device used to collect vehicle count, speed, and classification data. The system supports temporary traffic surveys and can collect data across a range of roadway users, including bicycles.
Nebraska LTAP currently has two MetroCount 5600 units available through the Equipment Loan Program.
