Surface Transportation Program (STP)
Commonly referred to as the Six Year Plan, this document lists transportation projects scheduled for construction within the next year, as well as projects planned for the following five years. It provides a roadmap for short- and mid-term infrastructure improvements across the state.
Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)
The STIP identifies the funding and scheduling of transportation projects and programs across federal, state, city, and county systems. It includes multimodal projects such as highways, passenger rail, freight, public transit, and bicycle/pedestrian facilities, as well as projects within National Parks.
Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP)
Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP 2040 Plan)
The LRTP outlines the state’s long-term transportation goals, strategies, and planned investments through 2040. It serves as a guide for maintaining and improving Nebraska’s transportation system over the next several decades.
The State Freight Plan provides guidance for enhancing the efficiency, safety, and reliability of freight movement throughout Nebraska. It identifies priority corridors, infrastructure needs, and strategies to support economic growth through freight transportation.
